I found this old file and thought I share with my friends. July 1983, I received a call from New York from a Malaysian congratulating me, saying that he is so proud that I was feature in the AOS bulletin on my work with Malaysian orchids species. Till this day, I do not know his name and wish if he did see this article, I would want so much to meet him. Those days, a call from New York to Penang was indeed something unreal for me. Anyway, after about three weeks, I received a little parcel post with this 8 pages of article about me from him. And believe me, I was in seventh heaven and till today is forever grateful to my brother Charles Marden Fitch who have featured me so many times in the American Orchid Society about my work with orchid species. My love to the conservation of orchid species this still a very big part of my life and reading this article on page 711, I realize that even back in those days I already have and wish to start a Malaysian Species Garden for the enjoyment and education of visitors. After all these years, now I can proudly say I have done it and my work/garden up at the Regency Hill Resort in Gunong Jerai is all about my work with orchid species all these years. Reading this article again makes me happy, truly happy for my life with orchids. All these would never be possible without the support of my family and my friends.
